  • GQF MFG Battery Grow Off and Holding Pens 0705

Game Bird Pens For Big Time Breeders

When you are producing a large amount of game bird chicks, you need a way to manage your livestock. This tower of grow off pens provides you with 5 levels of living space, each one able to accomodate up to 100 quail. Your growing quail (more than 7 days old) can stand on the 1/2" wire mesh floor, which allows droppings to pass through. This helps make clean-up a snap, especially when you are working with such high volume. All three sides and back panel can also be removed for easy cleaning.

  • GQF MFG Poultry Brooder with 2 Grow Off Pens 0703

    Just Add Chicks!

This set includes everything you need to start your own poultry business! It will hold 48 chicks in the brooder, day-old, either from your incubator or from a breeder. This brooder gives them access to everything they need for a healthy start in life- food, water, shelter, and warmth. With trough feeders and waterers, you are able to maintain a cleaner environment by reducing waste contamination in the food and water, as chicks are very prone to messy behaviors. The exterior troughs also make checking food and water levels a breeze, and refilling them is just as easy.

After 4 weeks in the brooder, it is time to move your chicks to the grow-off pens so they can finish developing to a size that is suitable for moving in with the flock. This means that their feathers are fully developed, and they are able to defend themselves from other birds, as well as potential predators. This typically takes about another 4 weeks, making the cycle very easy to manage. When moving your chicks into the 2 grow off pens, you can house 24 chicks in each pen. This also then opens your brooder back up, allowing you to start a new growth cycle. This means that you can have up to 96 birds at any time, kept comfortably in less than 11 square feet. This is a great opportunity to start a business for yourself, working with the birds you love.

  • GQF MFG Grow Off Pen 0701

    Room To Grow

These nifty grow-off pens provide a great place to raise chicks that are past 4 weeks old. At this point, while your chicks still need a protected and safe place to grow, the heating elements provided by a brooder are no longer necessary. By moving your chicks into a grow-off pen, you are able to clear up your brooder for more new chicks, and thus have a higher production rate. You will be able to fit about half the chicks in here as you can in the Universal Box Brooder, also available by GQF MFG, so it is recommended that you get 2 grow off pens for each brooder. Since these items are the same size, they are easily converted into a battery, or can be purchased all together in the Brooder Plus Two Expanded Grow Off Pens, Item #0703.

When growing larger birds, it is recommended that you add the viewable expander for brooder and grow pens, item #0525. This increases your head room to 14" instead of 9 3/4".

  • GQF MFG Deck Game Bird and Poultry Battery Brooder 0540

    Large-Scale Brooding

GQF battery brooders with clear panels are ideal for displaying all types of chicks in feed stores, to monitor chick conditions at a glance and to raise large numbers of birds in limited floor space. Lightweight materials mean lower shipping costs as well as easy handling of drop pans. Sturdy base with rugged casters and securely fastened brooders result in a solid stack which is movable when full of birds. Only 65” high, all tiers of 5 brooders are accessible and drop pans and floors can be removed for cleaning while the brooders are stacked.

GQF Brooders are designed to eliminate stress in young birds by providing plenty of heat, fresh air, light, feed and water space, and sanitary conditions for a confined area. Three clear plastic panels allow full and easy viewing of the brooder’s interior. Each brooder comes with three 28.5' troughs which maybe used for either feed or water. Ample feed and water space is necessary to allow weaker chicks access in the presence of more dominant chicks. Any trough may be equipped with optional automatic watering to provide the large quantity of water necessary. Failure to provide proper feed and water space can result in slower weight gain and perhaps higher chick mortality. The troughs are mounted on the outside of the brooder so that the chicks do not mix droppings into the food or water.

The 300-watt heater provides sufficient heat while the vented plastic side panels keep out drafts. As chicks are drawn to light rather than heat, each heater has a socket for a low wattage attraction light bulb, which helps to hold the chicks in the heated area. Each brooder comes with a thermometer and a wafer thermostat, which is accurate to 1 degree. The floor is a thin wire ½” mesh which will allow droppings to easily pass through. For small chicks like quail this floor requires that a layer of No 1628 DACB paper or paper towels be laid down on the wire for the first 4 to 7 days after which quail may stand on the ½” wire floor. Day old poultry and ducks can be placed directly on the wire. Drop pans are made of lightweight aluminum for long life. Drop pans can be easily pulled out even when brooders are stacked and the wire floor is heavy with birds. This brooder is universal as each side panel comes with an adjustable gate to regulate openings for chick size. All three side panels and back door are easily removed for cleaning.

  • GQF MFG Digital Professional Cabinet Incubator 1500

    Professional Incubator

Are you a serious poultry, waterfowl, or game bird breeder? Then the 1500 "Professional" Incubator by GQF Manufacturing was designed for you! The No. 1500 “PROFESSIONAL” incubator offers an accurate digital thermostat with LCD display of Temperature and Humidity. An on-board computer monitors systems and the environment every second to keep itself updated and to share this data with you. Electronic automatic egg turning control, audio/visual indicators and a standard easy view door highlight a number of features. Constructed from high strength plastic board, the latest version of this model is well insulated, quieter, and easier to clean. We recommend adding plastic egg trays to your order. They come in sets of 6, 2 for each of your turning trays, and in a variety of sizes. One 1500 Incubator will hold 270 chicken eggs,1368 Quail Eggs (set and hatch 250 per week) or 216 larger eggs, such as duck, etc.

The No. 1500 “PROFESSIONAL” is designed to be used with the No. 1550 HATCHER. We recommend purchasing the two together. Up to three No 1500’s can be used with one No 1550 hatcher for a weekly production of chicks from a laying flock. Since this unit is intended to run as part of a incubation/hatching system, there are some advantages that this incubator has over the dual cabinet models. First, it is much easier to maintain because you do not have to deal with the mess of hatching. Also, you can leave your temp and humidity settings the same, without having to adjust for hatching as that will be done in the hatcher. This unit also has the trays set further apart, allowing more air flow through the unit as well as letting them turn at a steeper angle. This leads to stronger chicks, and ultimately better hatch rates.

  • GQF MFG Digital Hatcher Incubator 1550

    Professional Hatcher

This hatcher is designed to be the perfect complement to the 1500 Professional Incubator. However, whatever incubator you choose, this hatcher is designed to allow for the best hatching conditions. Unlike setting incubators, hatchers usually operate at slightly different temperature and humidity settings to obtain optimum hatch. With five hatching drawers the 1550 Hatcher will hold the complete setting of the 1500 incubator. For expanding operations the 1550 can be matched with up to three 1500 incubators.

The 1550 can be used to set eggs, but each egg will have to be turned by hand. For small chicks such as quail, each hatching tray comes with a tray cover. This unit is also a great choice for incubating reptile eggs. If you remove every other tray, starting with the top tray, you should have plenty of room to place your containers inside to incubate your reptile eggs. The temperature will go as low as 60ºF, provided your room temperature is about 50ºF.

The No. 1550 HATCHER offers an accurate digital thermostat with LCD display of Temperature and Humidity. An on-board computer monitors systems and the environment every second to keep itself updated and to share this data with you. Audio/visual indicators and a standard easy view door highlight a number of standard features.Constructed from high strength plastic board making it well insulated, quieter, and easier to clean.
